Katavi National Park - Unexplored Tanzanian Adventure

Katavi National Park in western Tanzania is remote and wild, a destination for the true safari aficionado. The name of the Park is derived from a legendary hunter, Katabi, whose spirit is believed to possess a certain tamarind tree; the base of the tree has offerings from the local community, who believe it will bring good luck.

Katavi is Tanzani’a jewel and despite being Tanzania’s third-largest park, it sees relatively few visitors. There are no herds of land rovers in this park; it is unique wilderness which you do not have to share.

Katavi is best visited in the dry season between May and October, December and February.
