Kilwa
Masoko is situated on the coast half-way between
Dar es Salaam and Mtwara. This picturesque town
has pristine beaches and is renowned for game fishing
as well as the unesco world heritage site
ruins on Kilwa Kisiwani Island. These ruins
are what remain of a 13th century
Shirazi civilization and are considered to be one
of the most spectacular historical sites
on the East African Coast.
